Ever have a Bold Blue Painted Buffet Kinda Day?
The day I found this buffet started out like most. I had my coffee, fed the kiddos, and was mindlessly looking at local listings for furniture. I was looking mostly out of habit. I had several pieces painted & ready for new homes & plenty of others in my shop storage ready for their makeovers. I do work from home & there is a tipping point for inventory vs walking space.
But look, here are the photos from that listing. It had Lion’s head pulls, flower detailing, and PAWS!!!! It also read “reduced” in the title. I needed to scoop it up, and it needed to be a Bold Blue Painted Buffet.!
I headed out & brought her home. I already had my bold blue painted ideas swimming in my head & was eager to start! I had to get the Mr. to help me unload this piece because it is extremely heavy! When He saw it, he totally understood why I ran out so quickly to get it. He just gets me like that. {impulsive & bordering on a hoarder} What’s not to love?
What he doesn’t always get s my love of COLOR. He said. “I like this, you should paint it black…” To comfort him, I said black is nice…I will consider it…and in all fairness, I did consider it as the wrong choice.
I gave the buffet a thorough cleaning. Sanded and filled some problem areas and waited for the Mr. to go out of town for work. When he is away I don’t always sleep easy, I work instead.
I love black, but this piece was just magnificent and called for a bold color choice. Honestly, it was the king of the jungle & remember those paws? So I chose Sailor, from our Pure Home Paints line for the body. WOWZA perfect for a bold blue painted buffet.!!!
Then to really drive the bold blue painted buffet as a true statement piece home I updated the pulls & highlighted the details with our Bronze Metallic Opulence, King indeed!
The Mr. is starting to trust my intuition! This piece was reserved for purchase the same day that it was listed & picked up by the time my husband returned from his trip. They can’t all be a Bold blue painted buffet. But sometimes they just must be.
