Yellow Painted Furniture Pieces You Will Love

Do you love color? Would you use yellow painted furniture in your home? When I asked on my Facebook Page you all responded with an overwhelming H-E-C-K YES!! We love yellow painted furniture.

While calling someone "yellow" may represent cowardice, featuring yellow painted furniture in your home will make you feel bold, courageous and inspired. Some studies even show a link between yellow and increased nervous system stimulation. Who knew, yellow painted furniture could be great for your mind?

This hutch is petite and makes a great storage piece. The style was timeless but a little plain. I felt this made it a perfect candidate for a yellow painted furniture makeover! When working with yellow painted furniture it is important that the piece not overwhelm a space. I chose a dark gray for the interior to create a little contrast and balance.

For this painted yellow furniture piece I used our Pure Home Paints Saffron Yellow & Slate Gray. This Saffron yellow color is cheery without being overwhelming in a room. Slate Gray is one of our most requested colors and helps tie the piece in with other grays but also would not compete with other pieces in a space.

On this yellow painted furniture project I wanted to accentuate the details without darkening the color too much. After 3 coats of our Saffron yellow, I used 1 coat of our clear Matte brush on top coat to seal the paint. Then I followed with Smoke Glaze (it is a dark gray) using a small detail brush in the corners, around the side details, and in the decorative trim around the top. If you want to tone down the Saffron yellow for your space you could glaze the entire piece to your liking. Get Creative with it!

 Isn't it funny how when something is top of mind you start seeing it everywhere? I have been noticing yellow dresses, flowers, book covers, cars, & art. Either Yellow is the newest it color or my mind is just searching it out.
